Random thoughts from a few cantankerous American physicians. All contributors are board certified. Various specialties are represented here. I do not know where this will lead but hope it will at least be an enjoyable read. All of the names mentioned in this blog are pseudonyms, the ages have been changed, and in half the cases the gender as well. All photographs are published with patient consent or are digitally altered to preserve anonymity. Trust us, we're doctors.
I know that the skeptical ones among us will call this one a hoax too....but I for one am not taking any chances!
ReplyDeleteAaah, 8th grade.... boys acting silly... I had almost forgotten!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all of you for the flashback ;-)
i can't wait for high school. i'm going to be so cool.
ReplyDeleteobtw, looks like i'm good to go even though i chew tobacco. cancer free baby. going to work on this with extra vigor every day.
ReplyDeleteThe good news: this study is legit, and is actually listed on PubMed.
ReplyDeleteThe bad news: a subsequent and much larger study of over 220,000 person-years (or wanker-years, if you will) of followup shows no relation between ejaculation frequency and the risk of prostate CA.
But, as you say, why should we take chances? And while we're at it, this article points out some other hypotheses we might as well test while we're at it, such as: "ogling breasts makes men live longer" and "regular sex helps to avoid colds".
The internet prevented my cancer. Thank you internet! Special thanks to Dani Ashe, Peter North, Aria, Score Magazine (you know who you are), Milena Velba, Nadine J (big thanks! Pun intended), and all of you on Usenet.
