Socialism is for Weaklings

Summer time is here. If you have high school grads and aren't already a San Fran/Austin/New York self-hating liberal jerk off, I suggest your kids spend the summer with a few good books to arm themselves against the those who can do those who can't teach elbow patch plaid jacket enviro -Nazis that you will soon be paying an arm and a leg to brainwash little Johnny or Mary.

1. The Bible. If you are atheist or Jewish or Muslim or Druid you can still get a lot out of its teachings.

2. The Anti-Chomsky Reader. Everything that spews from this cunning linguist's mouth is regurgitated by the left wing intelligentsia and is easy to debunk if you know where to look.

3. Atlas Shrugged. They should have already read this by now.

4. The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History. res ipsa loquitur.

In this day and age I do feel sorry for non-profits not aligned with the current agenda. I for one have stopped all giving except for my church. If the non-profits can prove they did not support the current congress and president who feel that the extorted monies taken from me can solve all of societies problems, I will resume my giving. Otherwise I'll let Obama take care of it for me. Call 1 800 HOPE AND CHANGE MY ASS. He'll probably be on the golf course,as he has played more rounds in 14 months than Bush did in 8 years; and he still sucks at it.

Nancy Pelosi recently told all wanna-be musicians to quit their day jobs and just get health care from the government. Yes, that is what we need. Thousands of second rate guitarists, but no one needs to bus my table after a meal. What ever happened to work ethic and the school of hard knocks.

Perhaps the prescience of Ayn Rand can best exemplify what is happening before our eyes. Those of you who haven't read the book (and probably voted for hope and change) will get a synopsis. Essentially all the producers, business leaders and generally motivated individuals end up leaving society in general, leaving behind a quivering mass of socialists doing their best to manage a crumpling economy and government. The most poignant part of the book for me was when Reardon, a hard working producer of steel, is trying to be convinced by gov't lackeys to keep producing and working, even at a loss. They tell him they know he will continue to do so because people like him, well , that's all they know how to do is work hard no matter what.. He finally realizes that they will continue to squeeze and squeeze until there is no more juice and then move on to the next victim. The collapse comes when all the producers stop producing. Galt's Gulch here we come.

Two more ED shifts to go. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Every shift is becoming harder and harder to stomach, like a guy with a stick, who says he only wants to hit me two more times.

  4. Cat, I've got you beat, posted my Summer Reading List several days ago...
Reading "Atlas Shrugged" this week, or at least the Cliff's Notes version.
OK, I'm really readin "Eclipse", you know, the Twilight movie thats comin out in a few weeks.
And gotta call BS on the Bible, I mean who's really read the bible like you would watch a good porno, in its entirety replaying the money shots over and over and over?? Nobody! its boring, and they lost me at the part where Adam begot and so on right up to Jesus...
Or was it the part where Jews are the Devil's children?, (which is pretty cool when you think about it)
Or that whole "Turnin the other Cheek" crap? Look what it got for Jesus...

  5. Anon,
If by issues you mean I believe in responsibiltiy for ones self and actions, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, hard work, limited government, not aborting babies, enforcing immigration laws, and vomiting in my mouth a little bit when people march in the streets advocating more man on man love, then yes, I have issues.

  6. Solid list.

I couldn't bring myself to READ Atlas Shrugged...it's just too long and I don't make enough "free reading" time these days. But I am working on the audio book. 63 freakin' hours!

Another Fox News hater who almost certainly doesn't watch it! Fox is no more "right wing" than the other networks are "left wing". Their hard-news coverage is pretty straight though their OPINION programs are mostly conservative. People who don't watch (and get their 'news' from The Daily Show & PMS-NBC only regurgitate what they hear).

Frank: could you find the verse in the Bible that references the Jews as "The Devil's Children"? I've missed that one amongst the ones calling them "His chosen people". I'd like to enlighten my Jewish friends.

  8. I believe that in the context of the entire chapter, Jesus is talking about those those who follow God's laws and those who do not.

In a broader context, as we are all sinners, we are all "children of the devil". (Except maybe Obama whom we all know was sent from Heaven).

Admittedly, he was talking to Jews....but that's the only people who were around him. I think his teachings were intended for a broader context.

I'm always amused at the "Christian" anti-Semites who never seem to square their hate with the fact that Jesus, all 12 disciples, and the entire early Christian movement was Jewish.

  12. You know ayn rand was violently atheist and had only hate for Christ, right?

    ReplyDelete
  13. oh, wait, ayn rand was atheist? then she couldn't possibly be right in her personal responsibility based phiolosophy of logical positivism. now i have to throw out everything she wrote... or the Bible... or, wait, my brain hurts... could it be... no, it couldn't... could she have a philosophy absent a God that nevertheless was moral and upright??? ow... my tiny brain... thank God for the labiahood known as the anonymi for keeping us on the straight and narrow... oh wait, that's a Biblical concept... the wide and crooked... shit. *crying (not really)*

  14. I don't remember her being violent, and yes I have read many volumes (my personal favorite is the collection Philosophy: Who Needs It). She was more of a secular humanist. Never stated she hated Christ. She just couldn't reconcile the ego's need for individual expression and self worth with the altruist aspects of Christianity. I don't agree with those aspects of her philosophical weltanshauung, however her views on capitalism and the human spirit's inability to be quashed by socialist dill holes like yourself are what I take from her teachings.

  18. Best I can tell so far "Atlas Shrugged" is like "Fight Club" if "Fight Club" was a boring 1,372 page book instead of only the greatest dramatic Movie of the last Millenium.
And not all of us pray at the Altar of your false Christian God, An(al)onymous, the Pope was in the friggin Hitler Youth for cryin out loud.
"in the World I see, you'll stalk Elk through the damp canyon Forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes you made yourself that'll last your entire life. You'll climb the wrist thick Kudzu vines that wrap the Empire State Building. You are not a unique Snow Flake, Your the same decaying matter that comes out of the rear end of a Cow"

  21. There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Here's the deal with the current crop of progressive socialist. If you obtained your money from a trust fund, or shady deals, or badmouthing a company and selling short and are already at the top, you are ok and can make policy that makes you look like you care for the little guy, while none of the policies directly affect you. But if you are an entrepreneur starting a business, employing 16 other people and providing a needed service to the community, well, then we need to stick it to you with burdensome regulations, taxes, and just demonize the hell out of you money grubbers.

And use of Biblical teachings or quotes by non Christians to turn an argument against someone is like me using The International Guide to Butt Huntching or How to Climb a Tall Tree and Not Work or Abortion at Home:The Safe and Easy Way to Prevent Pregnancy. It just doesn't work. Hard work is praised in the Bible, to glorify God, not the state or Obama's minions, all the way from Genesis to the Apostle Paul, who said: "If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their own work quietly and to earn their own living." What we are doing these days is turning the "not willing" into the "not able" or worse yet," don't need to" work.

Howard Sterns "Private Parts" and its underappreciated sequel "Miss America" contain more wisdom and truth in 1 chapter than all of Jimmuh Carter, AlGores, and the President(Peace be upon Him)'s works combined.

  26. People are only liberals and/or support socialized health care because it is an easy way for them to look like "kind caring people without having to think or do much". I see this all the time, and I believe this is why almost every college campus is so liberal. Students these days want to seem all "humanitarian" they hold up a sign and think they saved the world but never go farther then that.

The true hero is the person who seriously sees socialized health care for what it is (a disaster). All it takes is for some simple research and LOGIC to see that if you want to help MORE PEOPLE to the BEST OF OUR ABILITIES then we need a system that rewards hard work and hold people accountable for their decisions.

So I say FUCK! these FAKE AS HIPPIES at my SCHOOL I call everyone out and no one I mean no one ever wins when I debate with them. I am not trying to prove I am better then anyone (actually I am ;) ) but I'm sick of these fake ass lazy people just sliding by dominating with no harassment. I plan to be the silent fart in an ER waiting room, it doesn't change anything much except make it a little bit uncomfortable for everyone else so they may think twice before coming back (unless they like my salami egg farts).

    ReplyDelete
  27. dear latest anonymous,
you put your finger on an interesting dilemma. since folks like you and me attempt to argue dispassionately and logically and based on what has been shown to work (and not to work) there is a point at which the anger-meter spikes when arguing with most liberals. most liberals resort rather quickly to the ad hominem/ emotional 'argument', and then you are faced with a decision... let it go or fight back. if you fight back how do you do it? logic has already failed so do you walk away or do you let our the salami-egg-fart? two hundred years ago it was pistols at dawn or epees. i begin to see the logic of the old way.

  28. @Cat. I did read Atlas Shrugged after you rec'd it like 10 x. It was good. But I didn't feel all warm and fuzzy once I got to Galt's Gulch. I absolutely agree with the principle of self-sufficiency, but Ayn Rand and her characters were missing the boat. Compassion is what makes us Human. Charity and our ability to love. There was none of that in the book. I think you have to balance her notions of how we should live with that of Christianity and you can get to a place that's a pretty good way to live as a human. Charity never faileth and suffereth long. None of her characters had a soul.

Of course there's no room for government in all that...Government's got the Midas touch except everything it touches turns to poo...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Meh. The folks at Galts Gulch, where I now live, have no need for anybody else to appreciate any aspect of their private souls. They can make steel well and, if you want good steel, then fine. If not, thats also fine. Im sorry if some people need that book to be 2,000 pages long, just to add in some appreciable sentiment.

I remember on the very first day of grad school, playing volleyball out front with my new classmates. A guy drove by in a noisy, hopped-up Challenger and one student spewed, (quote/apotrophe key is dead) Stupid inefficient people and their stupid inefficient cars! Except for one other student, all the rest nodded or vocally agreed.

Those were (almost) all liberals and none of them was particularly good at math, or chemistry. I aced all of the classes and they just werent as good. A year later, in a driving rainstorm, the shouter couldnt get his (new, piece of crap, probably given to him by daddy) Blazer started, I pulled over to assist him. I popped the hood on my mint condition, completely rebuilt by me, 1968 Mustang, rolled out pristine jumper cables and got his efficient car started. When he saw the chrome and gleam under the hood of my car, the first car I ever bought, the car I rebuilt twice and put over 850,000 miles on before giving it to my niece upon her college graduation, he said Holy Shit thats a cool car.

Thats also a liberal. They are complete hypocrites and, like the straw house and stick house pigs, always come running to the brick house pigs when times get tough. Besides, my inefficient old Mustang is still on the road and still screams like a bat out of Hell, long after most Blazers have gone to the crusher. Who is inefficient, now?

  32. I'd add "A Patriot's History of the United States of America" to the list.

Oh, there's a Jewish Bible too, it predates the Christian one and has some pretty good lessons in it as well.
