Random thoughts from a few cantankerous American physicians. All contributors are board certified. Various specialties are represented here. I do not know where this will lead but hope it will at least be an enjoyable read. All of the names mentioned in this blog are pseudonyms, the ages have been changed, and in half the cases the gender as well. All photographs are published with patient consent or are digitally altered to preserve anonymity. Trust us, we're doctors.
Could have used that sign the other day in the "Ladies Room" of a well-known bookstore.
ReplyDeleteWomen are the worst offenders...always use a paper towel when opening the door to exit...GROSS
harrumph!
ReplyDeleteI always use a paper towel to both enter and exit Ladies' rooms. And wear an Al Gore mask.
ReplyDeleteOnce saw a Cardiac Surgeon come out after droppin a Deuce, and head straight to the OR(Aortic Valve Replacement)without washing his hands...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he scrubbed and wore gloves...

I would disagree that women are the worst offenders. I often catch the male occupants of this household attempting to leave the bathroom without washing, and I make them go back and soap up. Did not have the same issue with my daughter.
ReplyDeleteI also make them wash up before dinner. It think maybe my grandparents ingrained that in us (you always wash up after working outside). I can't definitively declare that it has prevented the spread of germs, but we have been fairly healthy.
i was really hoping that someone would make a 'so this is what it's come to' post... comparing the old WWI recruiting poster to this... perhaps i am too obtuse. and not even an 'aka' middle name for drackman.
ReplyDelete911..
ReplyDeleteNot too obtuse...got your drift immediately, however,"IT" has come to a lot more than we will ever imagine.
Just HOPE it's not too late for CHANGE.
