Click above. Read. Ring a bell? I do my volunteer work at my job.

  1. But do you go home with that satisfied feeling of helping someone? No, because the people you volunteer for are PITA, life-sucking, stinky, stupid deadbeats.

And they don't even tell you "Thank you" for the work note and the Lortab, do they?

  2. How about a tax deduction for uncompensated care? Does that exist? It could give at least SOME incentive to care for the uninsured lifeforce suckers....keep more of the money that paying customers pay.

  3. Since doctors basically donate their services why can they not claim these donations as charity and get the tax write-off?

Fact: the deadbeats would never even attempt to get away with theft of services if our elected politicians were not publicly stating repeatedly that they have every legal right to do so because the same politicians wrote the laws that enable them in their thefts. ELECTED lawmakers created this mess. With all the complaints about the broken health care system, exactly why do these politicians continue to get re-elected? It sure isn't because the deadbeats vote for them. Deadbeats seldom vote, period.

  4. I feel that if they can't pay the $10 copay, the ED should be run like a pawn shop. They can leave the full gold grill or blue tooth ear set until they can sell enough rock or meth to get the money. Or they can not buy the 5 packs of Kool menthol and family sized Cheetos for one day. Either way, I'm ok with that.

By the way I saw one of the worst meth mouths I have ever seen. A 23 year old whose entire dentition was completely eroded. Three cheers for meth mouth!!!

    1. I really think it's so nice of you to talk about patients who can't pay their co-pays like they are the white-trash scum of the earth. I guess when you went through med school and became a doctor, you somehow became better than the everyday person. Just to point out, my family doesn't have a lot of money. Things can happen when my doctor's office isn't open....and some of those things can't wait. When you are in unbearable pain, or just need to see a doctor right away....some people don't have ten or fifteen bucks handy. It doesn't mean that I spent it on menthol cigarettes or artificially flavored cheese snacks. But the reference is touching. That's what most doctors fail to realize.....not everyone is an insurance abusing, drug seeking piece of trailer trash. I've read a few posts on this forum, and it makes me sick the way that you speak ill of your patients. Every job has annoying people that you have to deal with; people in every walk of life have people they'd rather not deal with. It's shocking to me, some of the things I have seen on this blog. Some of you are really not very nice people...cynical, sarcastic, and just plain spiteful. Makes me not want to go to the doctor at all...

  6. The completely valid and cogent argument made by this doc will never garner support. Why? Because it is impossible to garner political or public sympathy for a relatively well-paid profession. That is why the only way out of this mess is for physicians to shout down the 'altruists' and 'utopians' and stand up for themselves. We must recognize that WE are the skill; WE are what allows healthcare to exist at all; WE are an irreplacable resource - fuck us and you are in big trouble. There is NO consequence to abusing the system. WE need to stand up and say ENOUGH!

I sound like some insane preacher.
