911DOC Update

Well gang, even if you don't believe that a rising tide lifts all boats an ebbing tide does sink a lot of boats, including my business that was to get me out of the ER. For the moment, I remain working in the ER, a different one than two months ago and most assuredly at less than half time, but you may yet meet me on the other end of a stethoscope when you are in need. 'Cat is going to beat me out of the ER as it turns out, but I do have a master plan... I'm going to go back to work for the government before they make me do it. Ha!

  2. Dude,

You should just work like 6 24's a month in some rural department that everyone is happy to be at.

Fly-in if you need to, hell getting paid $130/hr to sleep aint all that bad.

Thanks for the reminder, Frank. Now I'm going to go play on the freeway.

  7. Well, you know how the saying goes,"When God closes a door he opens a window so you can throw yourself out of it". Just kidding. I myself applied for a new job yesterday after many years at the same school. My Christmas wish is for my sociopathic principal to die in her sleep.
Seriously, best of luck, 911, and I'll give you the same advice I give to victims of internet dating disasters, "It just wasn't meant to be, and at least you won't get geital warts now".

  8. If you are working for the government does that mean you are self employed as you are paying your own wages via taxes, and does that mean that you can award yourself a pay rise and if you have a pay rise and loose more tax giving that pay rise are you.... dunno l loose the plot about here!

Agree with the romantic and singing programmes being slit your wristable. Give me a good thriller any day.

  9. My Christmas wish is for my sociopathic principal to die in her sleep.

Devvie, as a former teacher, I found all principals to be sociopaths. It's one of the main reasons I got out of teaching. Geez, some step up; now I'm a schizoid writer. I'm hopin' for better success for 911.

  10. Lynn,
Well, I guess I've just been lucky so far. I'm on my fifth principal, and she's the only horrible one. I've only had to file criminal charges against her once (seriously). She's given me a wide berth since then, but I think my school will be closed because of low enrollment, and I'm going to start applying for kinder positions when they open. I'll be guaranteed a job come fall, but there may not be a K position open at that time. Wish me luck!

    911,

Sorry your plan failed. As Dev says, this might be a sign that there's something better in store for you.

Until you find that dream job, can't Cat hire you and become your boss? Really, what are friends for... ;-)

  12. Sorry about the change in plans.
Hey, are you going to be a Spa doc now?
If you are, please come work at our Spa, we'd love to have an EM trained doc in the ER. Many of our ER docs are contract FPs who are morons.
