Where Have all the Doctors Gone, Long Time Passing...

A little news item the other day... Obama evidently is concerned about a physician shortage. Well he should be. These seminars are happening about once every two months now and there's money behind this pamphlet. 8 color glossy pages of things for me to do other than clinical medicine. This tells me that these conferences are big money makers since they are able to send out tens of thousands of these nice pamphlets. Really nice hotel too. I'm getting my 'action plan for the future' ready.

  1. I'm not sure there's a doc over 45 who isn't seriously thinking about a non-medical career. I know of an ophthalmologist who became an artisan baker and several other specialists who became writers.

I get at least one job notification a week for Insurance medical directors all over the country.

  2. Come on, you naysayer party-poopers. We don't need no steeenkin' doctors. The Obama can walk on water, so don't you think he can't heal the sick as well? Sheesh...

  4. These "Non Clinical Careers for MDs" are a scam, a ripoff, a Fonzi scheme, like stuffin envelopes at home or sellin Amway...
I snuck into one of these once, just out of curiosity, same way you might go to a Sex Addicts Annonymous meeting...
The way you make money is by holding conferences where you get other suckers to pay $800 to be told to hold conferences to get suckers to pay $800
I'll make my non-clinical money the old fashioned way...
    "Taking Care" of Expert Witnesses

  5. To control the pain we must attend to the specialist because we can give him what is appropriate and what we need, for example I take hydrocodone, vicodin which is medicine used to counter the chronic pain that I have for years, but I rioja prescribing doctor, I take it in moderation because I read in findrxonline which is a medicine that causes anxiety, and we must control it as it can affect your nervous system, so do not take medicines without consultation because it really can be dangerous.

  9. frank,
i think you are right. in fact, would you be interested in forking over $1500 to me for some classes on starting your own escort service? it's very profitable and since you are a fan of the 'fonz' i think you have what it takes already to be a smokin' pimp-daddy. i think a Jewish pimp would be very interesting... big gold chain with star of David, open nylon shirt, hairy chest, pimp yarmulke with feather, rings, bling, etc...

At those conferences, they pretty much tell you to consider medical administration and medico-legal consulting, which is enough to make you even more disgruntled.
