More Radiographic Signs
We have previously covered the "Throckmorton Sign", but I do not recall an example of this radiographic sign.
This young lady presented today with shortness of breath and displayed an impressive radiographic example of the "Dimmersome-Bigguns" sign.
(No, Frank....I didn't get her phone number for you).

But, in contradistinction to Throckmorton's Sign, it would seem that Dimmersome-Bigguns is not useful for directing attention to lateral injury or disformity.
ReplyDeleteThis, despite an association with increased consults among multidisciplines within the hospital setting.
More than a mouthful's a waste.
ReplyDeleteIn checking my notes from school, I am SURE that I have it listed as "EMMERSOME-Bigguns" sign. Maybe it is different here in the south?

Thanks for sharing nice information about more radiographic signs. It is more useful for me. Awesome post.
ReplyDeleteIn the Dirty South we used to call em
ReplyDelete"Tig ole' Bitties"
see it's an anagram, or palindrome, or whatever grammatical term it is...
see, you couldn't say "Big ole' Titties" on rounds, I mean you could, if you didn't mind doin a red shirt year, like me...:(
for example, you'd be sittin in the OR lounge, and one Surgeon would talk about the Candy Striper he'd had sex with, and you'd ask which one..
"The one with the Tig ole Bitties"
Frank "Dig ole Bick" Drackman
that is a whole lotta woman
