Avanir shares soar on nod for involuntary-emotion drug
BANGALORE, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Shares of Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc (AVNR.O) more than doubled in value Monday after U.S. regulators approved its treatment for a genetic disorder Friday, making it attractive to larger firms looking for a strong product that has cleared the regulatory hurdle.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval makes the drug Nuedexta the first approved treatment for the little known, but not that rare, condition called pseudobulbar affect (PBA) in which patients cannot control outbursts of crying or laughter.
Holy shit! I have pseudobulbar affect! Note that this is apparently not a 'rare' condition...some of you may want to consider whether you might also have PBA. It explains perfectly why I cried hysterically when this happened:
And why I laugh, I assume without control, whenever I watch this (damned lawyers).
I am taking the maximum dose of Nuedexta, TWICE A DAY, when this little baby comes on the market. I want to be more...monotone. More...balanced? Maybe like this:

Economically speaking, I need an incentive. I can laugh or cry, on demand, based upon how I look at the national debt.
ReplyDeleteWhat I need to know is whether or not this pharm will be attractive to drug-seekers, so I can develop a business plan.
