I can think of at least 10 people in my class who should have been kicked out if they hadn't been coddled all the way through by admin. All these colleges work the same and you damn well know it. The sad fact is W is where he is today because of his birth. He is probably going to go down as one of the worst presidents of all-time. One of the good things about the military is that $hit doesn't work that way there. You either get with the program or get your (*&^ kicked. Take your ideology blinders off for once.
PS: Never said I liked clinton. I still think the bug-eyed cartoon is hillary-arious.

ReplyDeletei don't know what med school you went to if you went, but it certainly was not that way at my school. yes, they did not like to fail people out, and, in fact, if you were doing poorly in a particular subject, me in biochemistry for instance, they provided you with a tutor. that being said we did lose two students in my class of 130 to grades and other things. at the state med school out of a class of 180 they failed 30 out. good points you make.
contrarily, in my four years active duty i witnessed that if you were a. female or b. a minority, that the rules would be bent and broken in the sake of diversity. this was particularly evident after the tailhook 'scandal' when pat schroeder decided that having women in fighter aircraft was immediately necessary. consequently, the physical/athletic requirements to even get into flight training were modified so that women could do them (the obstacle course wall for example is 5 feet high for women and 10 feet high for men).
my boss in the service, a white male doc and flight surgeon who is now an F15 test pilot, failed to get a black woman disqualified from the program even though she had a seizure. you see, flying aircraft with a seizure is, well, deadly for the pilot and the crew. the reasoning was that a. she was black and b. she was female and c. she could fly multi engine aircraft so if she seized the plane might be landed safely by the others.
also, when i did combat casualty care at camp bullis i found that, with women and small folks in combat, that if i were wounded i would die. i'm 6'5'' and 235lbs and the women could not carry me out of harms way even on the big-boy litters. and i was not the only one they could not carry. basically the nurses and female docs could only carry someone of 130 pounds or so.

ReplyDeleteYou must be the one with your head up your butt. As a matter of fact I voted for Reagan, Bush's Dad, and Dole. REAL REPUBLICANS who honored the ideals of the republican party. Sure Bush is a neocon with the Iraq and religious right agenda. But Bush IS NOT A FINANCIAL CONSERAVTIVE. Have you seen are yearly budget and national debt? Why don't you look it up. What is W's answer? Gives us more borrowed money in the from of a national rebate so he can spruce up the last few months in office before we fall into a deep recession (which is going to happen by the way nomatter who become president). The simple FACT is from a financial standpoint Bill Clinton was more conservative than W (and the numbers support this). Back in 2000 I wanted McCain. Not sure what I am going to do now given his backtracking to the neocon/religious right to win the nomination. I hope they were nothing more than words to get the nomuination and he once again makes decisions for the best of the country not the neocons (if elected). So though I consider myself a republican in the TRUE SENSE OF THE WORD HISTORICALLY I am not a member of this hijacked party anymore. Maybe you should do a little reading from a financial standpoint to see all the "good" (sarcasm on) W has done for this country because you sound very misinformed right now.
