Blowed-up Leg

So let's say you have the misfortune to be on the receiving end of a Taliban RPG and it blows up your leg real good. The medics do a bang-up job and send you to the "ER", which is in a tent, and they do a bang-up job and send you to the hospital where a surgeon looks at your leg, tells you that you have lost a lot of bone but that the blood supply is intact, and you can have it off now or try to save it. You decide on option number two. Doctors, please leave this for our young apprentices.... what is likely to happen to you next? Update to follow, and it's a good story.

  3. MS1, an MS1 who's virginal digits have yet to disimpact a smelly Hobo's(thats what we used to call the "Homeless")Wrecked-em, has about as much place insulting GMO's as Ted Kennedy doing a designated driver PSA...
I'm a bored certified(even if they took my certificate)
Seriously, even if you pass your boards, pay there ransom, I mean umm actually ransom's pretty appropriate, if you do something they don't like, I don't know, send in a bunch of half filled in Sudokos instead of your CMEs, commit a few dozen felonys, they'll take your Board certificate back, just like the Mexicans are doin with Texas...
I've probably missed a few hundred PFO's in my 20+ years of Malpractice, maybe more.
Probably cause I don't know what a PFO is.
Oh sure, I could have nodded knowingly, and pretended I knew what it was, like you MS1's have to do to make it to MS2.
You like abreviations? How about "AGI"?
Bet mines bigger than yours, which is really unfair, since the only debt I have is that $5 my youngest daughter spotted me at Sonic last night.
Make that $6, if I pay by Friday.
And no offense, but when I was your age, I was already using my MD to screw 40+ yr old Nurses.
    OK, whats an "MCA" anyway

  5. Eww! Eww! Eww! Mr Kot-tair!!! I Know!!!!
traumatic extremity trauma? perfect set up for
    "Complex Regional Pain Syndrome"
which I dont really understand except its Complex, Regional, and it's painful.
Especially my elbow, for all those damn Oxy Scrips I used to write in the "Pain" Clinic, because "Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Clinic" was too long to fit on the sign.
and BTW, MS1, I "Binged" "MCA" and all I got was MCA records, Malaysian-Chinese Association, and "Mustang Club of America" so I'm pretty sure its one of those abbreviations you can't use, like HMFIC. Might wanta check that before you put all your eggs in that interventional radiology basket...

  9. MS1, I've been Googling since you were swimming in your Old Man's nut, but recently it just doesn't meet my needs.
I don't like how it saves your past searches, maybe I don't want Mrs. Drackman to know about "CindyBradyBeavershot.com"
and "Bing"s cool, hip, its what Frank Sinatra would use if he wasn't dead.
It's where Tony Soprano, Paulie Walnuts, And Johnny Sacks used to hang out while discussing Mafia business.
and that whole "Nurses are smarter than Doctors" thang...don't even get me started, oh you already did.
I'd tell you about the time I contaminated a million dollar hip replacement setup cause I listened to a Nurse, but I sold all my stories to J.P Peterman..

  10. Well, I was going to guess donor bone graft, but since this seems to be Insult Day, maybe I should keep it to myself...?

  11. Aww Frank, sorry you got set up. We do that sometimes when we are bored. Now, if you were cute like my little MS1, things probably would have turned out different.
