  1. Looks almost like something is living in there.

Oh, BTW 911, you have to watch Dancing with the Stars. Come on!!! We can talk about each episode at work. I feel we have grown apart and this is something we can bond again with. Chaz Bono? OMG, you gotta watch.

  3. Yes! So glad this stuff is back.

    My questions:
    1) Does this have anything to do with cocaine use?
    2) Is this due to a topical exposure or something systemic?

P.S...sent something to the mdod gmail. Hopefully its working?

  4. scrn,
love dancing with the stars, and wedding planning, and floral arranging, and ethel merman songs. not a botfly.

    dbsa,
    no sir, not arachnid related.

    ms1,
everything has to do with cocaine use, but in this it is not a direct cause. say hello to my little friend. not sure i understand the difference in question two... not a contact dermatitis if that's what you mean. and as far as we know right now this is not systemic. and if you sent me an email it must be spammed... when did you send?

    ReplyDelete
  5. goddam your email. like a few hours ago, maybe? let me know if i need to resend.

ok, i've got two guesses...let me know how far off i am.

    1) syphillis..on the face...somehow.
    2) actinic keratosis. too much time in the sun?

if these are completely off, i'm gonna need a hint.

    not impetigo, staph.

  8. no, not anthrax! i would have refused to treat him then! i can't put myself at risk because i am almost as valuable to our country as his O-ness... it's not selfish, it's just the way it is.

AK. capital letters. and not arkansas.

  14. Grazed by a bullet, which did some heat damage to the middle of the wound, as well as tearing out some meat from the rest and surface burns where it barely touched?

Of course, what do I know, I'm an IT geek.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ha! of course she's a female...i'm not etotheipi. see how well i spread your blog?

I still have no idea what this is, are there more lesions that we can't see?

    dr. j...i'm an excellent poker.

  16. i'm digging that the IT guy gets the AK reference and guesses a bullet graze. not correct, but damn fine detective work their my computer friend.

so, time for a hint... the AK reference was to indicate that this young man is in the service and just returned from the lovely country of Afghanistan. he was not there on vacation. and while this disease is not particularly prevalent there, he dont caught it anyway.

and ms1, i guess you are an excellent poker. nice Rain Man reference and, again, good for you.

  17. Cutaneous Leishmaniasis spread by infected sandflies from the Genus Simulium. Saw it in Saudi back in 90.

  18. Aaron Murray after being pile drived by All American/1st Round NFL/BCS Champion Defensive Lineman Nick Fairley?

  19. blow it out your dead-tree auburn ass frank.

and we have winners! cutaneous leishmaniasis. more often seen in soldiers returning from iraq, that's why this one was a bit odd. will probably change all the AFIP recommendations for deploying soldiers.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ya know I went to Auburn too, 911. But I'm humble about it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. whats treatment for that? dr. wiki is failing me.

  22. CJoe, I really do like Auburn but Frank makes it hard... Liking Auburn I mean, not my cock.

And ms1.. A pentavalent antimony compound... Duh... But that's for the uncomplicated cutaneous forn and not the post-kala-azar variant. It's quit an interesting disease with many forms including visceral... Perhaps you can teach us about it Stallion?

  23. well, the parasites lecture was on Monday..but, considering I haven't opened a book in two weeks, i should get to it by next friday. i'll fill you in.

  24. Frank,
Is the shitty spelling an affectation or a result of your fine education? It's Sun Tzu. And I blame AUBURN FOR EVERY UGA's death since your vet school has vet to find the elixir iof eternal life for dogs. Almost enough to turn me to the Crimson, but asshole vandal tree-poisoners are too much, so I guess I still like you guys.

  25. I think it was that Great American Nathan Bedford Forest who said the secret to winning was "git thar the fustus wit the most-us"
only word he spelled correctly was "The" didn't stop him from kickin some Yankee Ayse...
and George S. Patton, whose Grandfather fought for the Confederacy BTW, said he couldn't respect a man who could only spell a word one way..
Or maybe it was Jim Morrison...
and here's hopin UGA XXXXXXV watever makes it to "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" which has to be the gayest name for a Football Game ever...

    Frank

    ReplyDelete
  26. Nice quote from NBF... Founder of the KKK... And it's now "the worlds largest outdoor cocaine orgy"... Much cooler I think.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Founder of the KKK???
I thought it was the Mossadd...
and "Ku Klux Klan" is just Latin for "Band of Brothers" its like a really racist fraternity.
and thats why y'all always lose to the Gators, treatin a SEC game like a "Party"...
There's nuthin fun about SEC Football, unless you consider crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of there women "Fun".

  29. Why wouldn't the guidelines be changed already? The WHO has dubbed the capital Kabul as the “largest center of cutaneous leishmaniasis in the world”. In Kabul alone the number of cases jumped from an estimated 17,000 a year in the early 2000s to 65,000 in 2009. There is a major epidemic there.

    ReplyDelete
  30. mike1618,
they may be changed already. all i'm saying is that withing the deploying military most cases have come from iraq, not afghanistan.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Since when did the WHO become experts on medical issues? And I thought Mark Richt cured all this stuff during the off season instead of watching game film, cheating, I mean recruiting, and coming up with a more modern offense, you know, like something from the 80's...

    Frank

    ReplyDelete
  32. As soon as they were elected into the rock and roll hall of fame. Instead of posting here, your time would be better spent drafting a good-bye letter to Mark Richt. An SEC team getting pounded by a Mountain West team...what a joke.

  33. B/C of your precious bull-puppies, we are now going to have to hear Boise State whining about not getting to the BCS even with a flawless record. With all of the realignment, maybe Georgia should take this opportunity to move to Conf-USA?

  34. dear mike1618,
Ava is a lively child and I so admire your desire to raise her to be a wonderful human etc.... So, you are new here right? As a classy mom or dad you should know that classy moms do not, as a rule, waltz into someone's house and take a steaming crap on the floor. Make's one question the whole "classymom" thing and the neat story about the high school sweethearts of nine years and whether, in fact, you actually are capable of raising a chia pet, much less a human.

now frank, he can do it because we have a history... But you? And besides, I actually did not play in the game last night, so as they say in Italy, fuck off.

  35. I didn't understand what you were talking about at first, but the link to that blog was just one that I was following a while back.

I've been a long time reader of your blog and appreciate your topics. I was just having fun stirring the pot. By the way, I mistakenly thought it was Frank who was a GA fan. I was actually commenting to him. So as they say in Italy, Non ottenere le mutandine in un mazzo.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey 9-11, don't blame me cause Mark Richt infected his entire Offensive Line with whatever ambition sapping tropical third world disease he spent 2 weeks curing this Summer instead of watching Boise State Game Film...
Seriously, UGA's a bigger waste of talent than the Traveling Wilburys/Cream/Velvet Revolver/Slash's Snakepit combined...
and what was with those Red Uniforms?? thought I'd tuned in to the 1980 Olympics by mistake.
You remember..those hideous "Red Army" Russian unis...
And I tuned into the UGA radio show cause I love rubbernecking at the scene of a nasty accident, one of the Coaches said UGA would be ready for Carolina because, get this..
THEY'D BE WEARING THERE REGULAR UNIFORMS!!!!!
and I know, THE DEFENDING BCS CHAMPS had to recover an on-side kick in the final 2 minutes, still counts as a "W"
    that means "Win"

    Frank

  37. mike1618,
Weird how your screenname puts you as the author of that blog... Just weird... But whatever. Apology accepted.

    Frank,
It is time to bid adieu to Coach Richt. Unless he runs the table. But he won't. He's too nice an it's a shame but UGA is going to be looking for a new ciach pretty soon. I like the Boise coach... Like the cut of his jib.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Wow, even a lowly editor was going to guess leish. I saw it when I went to the Peruvian Amazon for book research. Wanted to go home real bad.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 9-11, Richt's been on borrowed time since 08', seriously, how do you take a #1 Preseason ranking, Matthew Stafford, AJ Green, Noshawn Moreno, and end the season losing to that mongoloid Josh Nesbitt??
And if you wernt so hung up on a Coaches religious boner-fides, you could have picked up Tommy Tuberville for a bargain, and maybe he'd have even brought a few of his recruits with him, perhaps even a mean and nasty defensive lineman from Mobile...

    Frank
